Preparing your space for an online movement lesson
An online lesson works better when the room is ready before the lesson begins. A small amount of preparation reduces distractions and helps you concentrate on the instruction instead of moving furniture between exercises.

Check the floor and the camera
Clear a space appropriate to the movements being taught. Remove loose objects, check that the surface is stable and keep pets or children away from moving equipment. If a live coach needs to see you, position the camera so the relevant movement is visible without placing the device where it could be knocked over.
Read the equipment list
Use only equipment that is suitable, stable and allowed by the lesson. A household substitute is not automatically safe because it looks similar. Prepare water, a towel and any notes before starting. If the class requires a piece of equipment you do not have, ask for an appropriate alternative rather than improvising during the session.
Keep your own limits visible
Know how to pause the video and take time to replay an explanation. Remote instruction does not replace personal assessment, and you should not push through pain to keep pace with a recording. Finish by noting the parts you understood and the questions that remain. Bring those questions to a qualified trainer before progressing to more demanding work.
